How are we doing?

Karen rocks as an English tutor! She developed a "writer's" connection with both my daughters, empowering them to dig deep, ask questions, and expand their grasp of grammar and vocabulary. My oldest is excelling in college English, and my middle schooler is embracing her inner writer. Karen's conversational approach to learning engages youth of all ages and makes them excited to learn. My girls gained confidence in their writing and now respect the  importance of outstanding written communication. Added bonus - my girls really liked "Ms. Karen." Her friendly but firm approach garnered their respect and enthusiasm. Whether your child needs an English refresher, SAT prep, or better study skills,  Karen is your go-to tutor! --Perdita, Cary (NC)
“Ms. Kromenacker has been my tutor for the past year or so. I can tell you from my experiences with her, she is worth every penny. She genuinely cares about her students and their successes. I strongly recommend her.”  Chris
"Oh my gosh! What did you do to that kid??? He walked up to your house like he had been sucking on a lemon ... he walked out with the biggest smile on his face! He said you were "very, very nice."  I don't think I'm going to have any more attitude from him on the way to your house. Half the battle for me was getting him there and having him participate and learn something. I think that battle is over. Thank you so much!"    Barb
I went to Mrs. Kromenacker for help in improving my writing skills and preparing for the SAT. With her guidance, my essays went from average to amazing! Also, she introduced me to several resources for the SAT - her assistance helped me achieve a 2130 on the SAT! Furthermore, she makes the lesson a fun experience, including nifty tips and facts along the way. All I can say is listen to Mrs. Kromenacker and you will go far!     April
“Karen Kromenacker is outstanding at diagnosing obstacles for students and implementing effective strategies. She has worked with my daughter for 3 years and has been an invaluable support for her. As we have experienced new challenges, Karen has been creative with interventions and holding her accountable. I would recommend Karen to anyone who is looking for academic support, better organizational & study habits, accountability, and creative solutions. She is an outstanding teacher.”  J.
"My oldest son breezed through high school with little to no effort and was excited to get into NCSU.  Once at State he quickly realized he needed to study more but had minimal study and time management skills.  There were resources on campus but he enjoyed Ms. Kromenacker's down to earth style, humor, and common sense approach to helping him learn how to study more efficiently and suggestions on how to balance his school, work and social responsibilities.  This summer my youngest son will begin working with Ms. Kromenacker on SAT preparation!"...EPP, parent of college and high school student
"WOW!!!" Can the boys come live with you for the next school year? Chad was a walking advertisement for you. He came in the house so excited and in amazement of what he just learned. HE IS BEGGING TO COME BACK! He was stating how he never learned so much in his life and feels like he just learned how to write a paper. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!"

"Mrs. Kromenacker is a great tutor. I have been going to her for almost three years now. Not only has she helped me achieve an A in English and keep it, but she has been successful in raising my self-esteem. Mrs. Kromenacker also worked with me on improving my study habits and organizational skills."  Kelsey
Karen came into our lives at just the right moment – the transition from middle school to high school. Both of my girls were struggling (8th and 9th grade) and she was able to get them focused and help them improve their performance. With English being their second language, they must work a little harder which can be exhausting for them. Not only did she teach the girls how to study but she connected with them in a way that other teachers or tutors have not. After each session, they are happy and feel empowered. The girls will be working with their Academic Coach, Mrs. Kromenacker, until they go away to college and maybe even when they come home on break. Thanks, Karen!   Lisa
“My daughter Lindsey went to Karen for about a year and a half to help her with Language Arts and study skills.  Karen really relates well to the students and teaches them so many practical skills to succeed in school.  Lindsey felt very comfortable and willing to work while she attended her weekly tutoring sessions.  I would highly recommend Karen as a tutor for anyone!  I am sure we will be going back to see her for SAT prep classes, also.”  Debby
